I'm actually surprised that the Vista PhotoGallery doesn't have options for resizing pictures! I looked for that option everywhere, but can't find it. The digital camera pictures was roughly 2 MB each and was looking for a similar option in Windows XP using the Image Resizer Power toys. Strange that Microsoft has missed out this important feature in Vista

Before I start, for those who have not read about me or not aware of my family back ground, I am married and blessed with a daughter ( 4 yrs) (Suchi ) and a son (1 year and 6 months) ( Shashank). Couple of days back, we were about have the dinner and my wife was serving the food. After rice and ghee were served to everyone, my daughter started saying slokas of Annaporni and then she started having. I got surprised and realized that teacher has advised them to do at home also. My wife spoke to the teacher next day and teacher has explained its hardly 2 days they started practising and she never told or insited the kids to say the slokas before meal. it was surprise to her also. Next day again in the night, we both said to the little girl, please teach us also and we will follow this practise next time and every time. Suddenly she grinned and i am sure she would have felt for a change she is teaching us. she taught us and at the end of the sloka, she said "now you guys can have your food".

Couple of reasons for me to do the blogging is, we always saw/ heard/ seen children copying their parents on every approach/aspect whether its good or bad. I felt the encouragement that i gave it to my daughter will explore her to learn new things which we were not aware or not following. Any kid, would prefer to be called only as good kids and expect some rewards as well.  Why not reward them for these kind of new things ?

have enclosed their latest photos taken on 21st July 2007

Brickbats and bouquets are most welcome J

Well, if you are wondering, who is this buddy, its none other than my Son Shashank ( aka Shashu at home) who has now completed 1 year and 11 months. Once you have Kid(s), you are always ended up in buying toys whenever you go out ( escpecially the better half wants to buy the toy store itself if you can afford). Forget about whether they will actually play with that or not !!. As a duty, we should have kept toys for them to play or rather no guests should not complain that we dont actually get anything for the kids. I am buying toys for the last 4 years now. I have seen the way my daughter ( Suchi plays/ handles) vis a vis my son plays ( Sorry breaks/ broken or try to break it further). helitoy was hardly 6 months old and it worked only in single digits for sure.

 Broken Helitoy

Moreso, he plays actually breaks them into multiple peices and pull all the wires and also expects me to assemble it back. Not sure if we wants to be an engineer.

The collection over a period of time ends up in most of the toys broken and we still ended up in keeping home. thats precisely the pain area to me. Every day, when i return home  one of the bedroom is spilled or sprayed with toys and its parts. BTW, this is not dedicated to them but to rather keep this to certain extent of not spreading everywhere . We got to clean this ready before the maid comes next day to clean the room. So every day either in the early morning or after 12:00 a.m ( thats time my kids anyway goes to sleep). i spend almost 15 minutes and keep them in 4 diffferent big plastic covers. If you are wondering why not all of them in one cover, remember you are helping him to spread at one shot. some time couple of covers stayed intact. My wife now insists to buy a big laundry bucket to keep them safe. dont ask me as why i am still interested buying this .

Toys Spread everywhere

if you look at the picture, thats my collection of hard toys and soft toys are seperate, ( yo can see a bigger picture in gallery) you can notice that most of them cant be played according to you and me. But my son thinks it on other way i guess ( could be dad is keeping everything in covers only for me to spread across the rooms. ( some time he drags the cover all the way to my bedroom, kitchen, storeroom, living hall etc ( which is even more painful). you will find something along with vessels, below the steel cupboard, some of them in washing machine, some of them in outside terrace and some of them in the wash basin as well. ( couple of months back, yes i have asked my daughter to climb up the terrace to get the AC remote which was conveinently dropped by my son along with other toys) .

The worst part is, if you try to collect them in a hurry or if you try to move fast across the rooms, you may skid and pose a serious injury and it happend many times to me . Thanks to Baby Talcum powder sprayed and played along with toys. you can be rest assured thats the softest powder for kids and from Johnson to have a good skid. I guess Home alone series of movies were inspired from them :)

Power Bath

Power all over

Having said all this, I can see a 10 to 15 seconds happiness ( you can actually see a grin on his face) and a big grin ( acheived a Big thing in life anyway of giving more work to his parents ) when he actually drops the cover and does one stirr. :)

For those who still cant beleive it, wants to see the live action, you are most welcome to make a trip to my sweet home

Cheers

Mur
