Many of would be using this feature in word where in Bullet list can be created by clicking the bulleted icon in email toolbar if you are using word as an editor or in word tool bar.

There are other ways to create this as well

If you start typing  a line with * followed by a space, autocorrect will turn it into a bullet list.

if you press “-“ dash sign and give a space, then this will turn into a bullet list…

If you press Ctrl+Shift+L also would do the same

I just came to know about a pretty cool feature in gmail where in It allows you to customize the e-mail address.

example, I can have my family to use alias+family@gmail.com , whereas if i need to buy something from bestbuy and for their registration, i can register with alias+bbuy@gmail.com.  Biggest Advantage of this feature is the email sorting is damn easier and quicker and i can also monitor as which id sends me the spam emails.

Google started rolling out free IMAP support for Gmail. Google already supports POP3, but with POP3 limitations such as changes made in an email account arent reflected when the users logins in again.

One of the advanatge of IMAP  is users can now read the email from any mobile devices and the changes will be reflected in their email account on the web as well. To access the feature, click the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab in their Gmail "Settings" and turn it on.

Most of you are aware, that asp.net site had the provision to profile a new mobile device which can then be added to the machine.config folder. Advantage of profiling the device will give you more details about the device which are neither covered in the UA prof details nor in the headers details. ASP.NET has now given a script which is less than 2 MB which will allow you to deploy the device profiling in any SQL DB/ Web server setup. My team has successfully configured ( we had some issues and its not definitely straight forward for sure) finally in our own development setup. you can download the mobile device profiling tool now

Every year, we used to have this festival in a big way, by buying dolls, making different Sundal at home and inviting people to come home and sing some devotional songs. A festival especially meant for kids to visit every neighbour place and enjoy the different varieties of Sundal and have a good get together. This year, I could not devote time ( thanks to my projects and commitments) my wife has managed somehow with 2 naughty kids and even managed to get all the dolls from the cupboard. When I reached home at 11:00 p.m on 10th October, I was stunned to see the park, forest and a railway station which was well done with 2 kids around. BTW, my wife is still thinking about the addition in the part for the kids, we have bought some more items to make this even more beautiful. Yesterday, I went to trinethra Retail outlet in Madipakkam Road to buy groceries. The sales person has prepared the bill and was short of Rs 100 worth of Sodex Ho Pass. I then deciced to drop couple of Pampers Diapers from the list. I was shocked to see that the item has been as Rs 55 when the MRP is only Rs 50/-  Normally it happens when there is a drop in price, and the system was not updated. He then went with admin login and checked the item pricing and selected Rs 50 from that. Post that it was still reflecting Rs 55 in the bill. I was shocked such a sensitive issue was not noticed by anyone so far. Moreso, he told me that he made the qty as zero and i paid the amount and reached home. This morning when the items came for delivery, i again noticed that one Pampers 5 pack ( medium size) were billed and with Rs55/-

I yet to go and make a official complain to the store. So dont be casual assuming all the prices will be of MRP and no need to look into bill. Atleast after getting the delivery, please do have a look on the MRP.

Other General Mistakes/ observationsthat i have noticed in most of Super Markets

1. Free Gifts are forgotten most of the time. Not that the intention was not give.. but, it happens
2. Milk, Curd, check the expiry date. I saw many times where the expiry date is tomorrow or day after.
3. When you ask for home delivery, make sure that some one keeps the perishable items back in the freezer.
4. Some time post delivering Lays chips used to be small peices.. hand carry with you and tell.
5. Recommended to buy fresh green vegetables in evening market. most of the times, the vegetables come only the day morning and it looses it freshness.
6. When you have offers on clothes, make sure to keep the bill with you for a month. Got some clothes in an offer and it got torn in the very first wash. ofcourse they have agreed to take it back., But still.

I got the delivery of my car ( Wagon R) on 21st August and it was lying idle ( trust me, didnt have time even to do ribbon cut and to take the car out) for the last 30 days. I was working on a project which took most of time and could not devote time. I have now started taking it out and managed to travel 150 Kms!! and now giving it for 1st Service. Asusual, all the new car will or should have some scratches in the body and I could not escape from that. to make things worser, the air filter knob got broken while starting the car. I am not sure whether this is covered or not in warranty. I hope, i dont need to pay for this.

We have been working on CMS 2002 to do device specific rendering of WML and XHTML templates using mobile template switch. In one of the project, i have noticed a problem where in the app pool was getting crashed very frequently and the site was going down most of the times. With the help of Microsoft Premier Support Service, we then figured it out that certain device had reference to WML 12 (Microsoft used to do Device updates to add new devices post 1.1 NET framework support for Mobile devices. they had upto 4 device updates till framework 2.0 launch) and since we dont have this template in the template switch code, the app pool was getting crashed. We have then changed all the reference to WML11 and site is working fine without any issues.

Well, its been very very hectic for the last 2 months . Myself and the entire team were working on the Vodafone Live Project for the last 2 months and for almost 15 hours a day and without any break!. The site got launched on 21st Sep 2007, without any issues. The efforts has paid us with huge appreciation from the customer and from my company as well. For me, personally lot of things went haywire at home during this duration and my wife handled it without my presence. its my time for me to return back and looking for a break very soon.
