Recently National Productivity Council launched its National Productivity Council Portal. NPC's vision is "To be the comprehensive online repository of knowledge on Productivity". Vishwak being the Microsoft Star Emerging System Integrator was referred for developing and deploying the portal for NPC/NIC. Vishwak's expertise in portal solutions has contributed to achieving NPC's vision for the portal in record time. NPC Portal is one of the first government body initiated global reference site on Productivity and Quality. We hope this Portal will help promote Productivity culture in India in a big way. The solution was developed with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 as backend database server.

Last week nearly 6 of our solutions and offerings got listed in Microsoft's Solution MarketPlace site. Having got listed in Microsoft Solutionfinder will make it easier for our customers to find about Vishwak and our solutions. It adds a line of credibility to our solutions as they have verified customer references. Last week NDTV Convergence released NDTVKhabar.com, a complete Hindi News Portal catering to the Hindi news readership on the web.

This week Vishwak shipped a RFID based Asset Tracking Solution for a Malaysian Retailer.  This RFID based Asset Tracking solution combines the capabilities of asset management and asset monitoring (through RFID tags) in a single application. A dynamic graphical view of the exact location of the tagged assets is rendered and helps in real-time asset tracking. This application constantly monitors feeds from RFID readers connected to the local area network to process the signals from the readers and derive the details of tags in the reader’s range and their current activity.  Alerts are provided through an audible alarm whenever there is any change of activity in a tagged asset.  The audible alarm varies in pitch and intensity based on the type of asset and activity. This audible alarm coupled with a visual indication on the screen provides details of the asset and the activity that triggered the alarm.

This solution improves the efficiency of workflows by providing real-time location details of resources and real-time alerts via audio alarms & visual indicators thus saving the time that would have been expended to track them manually. Critical assets are secured by real-time monitoring.   Also provided in this solution are administration utilities to capture the floor levels, readers, tagged assets map to specific readers and set alarm levels.  These administration utilities help in easier adaptation of the solution to various environments.  Reports and logs available in this solution provide information on asset movement, assets mapped to a reader, alarms raised in a time interval etc.

Apart from retail outlets this solution can be used in Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems, Libraries, Schools & Universities, Museums, Hospitals etc. wherever there is a need for real-time asset tracking and management.

Microsoft India in the recent P2P ( Partner 2 Partner) meet held in Hyderabad on Feb 28th and 29th, awarded Vishwak Solutions as “Star Emerging SI Solutions Sales Award for FY07” .This is a National level event and a rightful recognition from Microsoft for Vishwak’s expertise in working with leading Enterprise Customers.  Vishwak got selected from several other SIs for this award in recognization of its deep expertise on Microsoft Server technologies including Sharepoint 2007 & Commerce Server 2007. In the last financial year, Vishwak had worked with Microsoft on several key enterprises around the country including HT Media, ABB and others.

The Karnataka government launched its official web portal, www.karunadu.gov.in on Thursday in Bangalore. Developed in association with Microsoft India, the portal will provide a single window access to information and services being provided by the various state departments and citizen utilities. Citizens can use the portal to fix up appointments with government officials, to monitor status of their files and to lodge complaints.

Recently government of Haryana in association with Microsoft India, has launched http://haryanaindustries.nic.in, thus becoming the first state in India to launch an industries portal. The portal was launched by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, in the presence of Union Minister of Commerce and Industries, Kamal Nath.

Vishwak has been involved with Microsoft in the development of this portal using Microsoft Office SharePoint 2007. With our deep experience in portal solutions and in SharePoint we have delivered the complete portal  in 2 months. The challenge in this portal was the Composite Application Form (CAF), which is a single window Industrial Interface. This interface provides a single point of contact and time bound clearance for establishment and operation of industrial undertakings. Besides CAF the portal features discussion forums where registered industries can start or participate in discussions on any subject of their interest. They can also contribute to Blogs and Wiki entries, and participate in various opinion polls.
