• Collaboration Portal for Oman Air

  Vishwak Solutions is happy to announce the completion of a Collaboration Portal using Microsoft SharePoint server that it designed and developed for Oman Air -  The national airline of the Sultanate of Oman. The Oman Air portal is developed to bring together as a collective platform the various operational and administration wings like Flight Operations, Navigation and Performance, Operations Control Center and others of Oman Air. It provides ease-of function and access, thus reducing operational and resource spend considerably. The portal facilitates the teams to work together effectively, collaborate on and publish documents, maintain tasks, share information through blogs, discussion forum and more. • LIFCOBOOKS new site launched in record time

  Recently our customer LIFCO Publishers Pvt. Ltd. (a leading book publishing house from South India) approached us to upgrade their website within a month, to enhance manageability thru easier and faster operations. We took up this challenge and delivered within a month, a more manageable system with easier and faster operations. The previous version of the site (www.lifcobooks.com) was developed several years back on then latest technology platform – Microsoft Content Management 2002 and over the years the site has lot of functionalities built on ASP.NET. Considering their requirements - Time to release, ease of use (update of content & management by their in-house staff) & cost, we decided on the CMS platform to be Joomla! and the blog platform to be WordPress. Both Joomla! and WordPress run on PHP and PHP runs great in IIS 7.0 using FastCGI technology. The choice of IIS 7.0/Windows Server 2008 solved the other requirement of running  many of their existing applications built on .NET framework. Our Open Source team in Vishwak developed the new templates in Joomla! and WordPress. Then moved the content from MCMS 2002 using a combination of manual import and automated scripts. The content from dasBlog engine to WordPress was moved almost entirely automatically. All done, the new site was released as estimated on LIFCO’s founder’s day on 22nd July. After the upgrade the new site now sports – Fast loading pages, Twitter Integration, Full Featured Shopping Cart, Site search, Blog Integration, Video Integration, Attractive Photo Gallery and more. • Vishwak develops Mahindra’s Homestays portal

  Vishwak developed this state of the art travel portal for Mahindra Homestays. Vishwak used its Rapid Web development model to deliver the portal in record time. The portal was built on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 platform and Vishwak integrated SharePoint with external systems – TALISMA and with a 3rd party Payment Gateway. The Homestay portal is a showpiece travel site with extremely user friendly and a pleasing design. The holiday planning tool is designed to provide an interactive information display and helps the users to choose a location to spend their holidays. Google Map (Web 2.0) integration is included to provide the user to interact directly and select the location and the variety of 'activities' available at the location.   Recently the beta version of Sakaal Times was launched by Sakal Media, the flagship media group in Maharashtra. Sakal Group is one of the leading diversified media entities in India. This is the online version of their English newspaper which was launched by them this year. The site was developed by Vishwak Solutions using its flagship offering “VPF” – a popular solution stack for building news media portals with state of the Web 2.0 features.  VPF was selected by Sakal group over several other Web CMS solutions due to VPF’s robustness and reduced time to deployment. • Vishwak in Microsoft Customer & Partner Forum

  Vishwak Solutions participated in Microsoft Asia Pacific Customer & Partner Forum in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) held on Dec 4th 2008. This invite only event organized by Microsoft was well represented by attendees from all leading Telcos, Service Providers, System Integrators from the region. We showcased MSN-Vodafone Live GPRS Portal built on Microsoft Commerce Server and Content Management technologies. Our exhibits focused on our flagship mobile solution – Mobile Content Delivery System (MCDS) and our offerings to Telecom and Media & Entertainment industries.
